1889 U.S. Constitution Centennial Case of Medals. The fragile original case has a tan leather exterior. The interior is red velvet with insets for 18 items, which include 15 Washington medals, a copper 21 mm Benjamin Harrison campaign medal (DeWitt-BH-1888-25), a steel pinback eagle hanger, and a steel axe with a stars-and-bars blade and the inscription Apr. 30, 1889 on the handle. The Washington medals include: cast 60 mm lead copy of Baker-112; Baker-287F Variety, Musante GW-944B; Baker-651 Variety, Musante GW-927; Douglas-7A, Musante GW-1087A; Douglas-9, Musante GW-1086; Douglas-10, Musante GW-1088; Douglas-13, Musante GW-1104; Douglas-14, Musante GW-1105; Douglas-28, Musante GW-1101; Douglas-35A, DeWitt BH-1888-8, Musante GW-1118; Douglas-36, Musante GW-1110; Douglas-39, Musante GW-1116; Douglas-47, Musante GW-1082; Douglas-48, Musante GW-1134; Douglas-49, Musante GW-1130.
