"1824" Franklin Institute Silver Award Medal, Julian-AM-17, Greenslet-91, PR63 Uncertified. The Franklin Institute medal was designed by Christian Gobrecht, and this example was awarded in 1853 to the firm of Kurlbaum & Schwartz of Philadelphia for their Porcelain Ware. Charles Kurlbaum was a chemist per the 1853 McElroy's Philadelphia City Directory. John T. Schwartz also appeared as a chemist in the same directory. (Est. $700-$1,000).
