(1907-1917) Valdez, Alaska, Copper Block Buffet, Gold Nugget, AU58 PCGS. Gould-Bressett 46, Benice 4C-II. Copper-nickel, 38 mm, with a thumb-shaped gold nugget at the obverse center, as usual for this famous Alaska token variety. A one-bit token with a mining scene is also known for this Gold Rush-era issuer, but it is the one dollar token bearing the nugget that commands bourse attention. A smooth olive-gold example with minor field hairlines below the nugget. (Est. $800-$1,200).
