Bust Half Dollars
1814/3 50C O-101a, R.2, AU55 PCGS. CAC. Multiple obverse and reverse die clashing and a diagnostic collection of die cracks on both sides identify the late die state of this popular overdated half. Faint almond-gold toning at the margins adds natural appeal to the stone-gray surfaces, while substantial silver luster remains among the stars and reverse legend to confirm the Choice About Uncirculated grade. A few light abrasions are unseen without a lens, and -- with the exception of the left (facing) wing feathers -- all of the motifs remain sharply defined. Population: 35 in 55, 23 finer. CAC: 9 in 55, 8 finer (1/17).
