Bust Half Dollars
1814 50C Single Leaf, O-105a, R.4, XF45 PCGS. The Single Leaf variety is a die lapping error, similar to the FS-401 1922 No D cent, and the FS-901 1937-D Three-Legged nickel. The dies clashed heavily, apparent by the "bars" near Liberty's ear. The reverse was removed from service, lapped, and returned to service. The lapping removed one of the two uppermost leaves. This unmarked example displays light to moderate wear, along with consistent gunmetal-gray toning.
