Seated Half Dollars
1847/(6) 50C WB-102, FS-301, Late Die State, XF45 PCGS. While the late die state of the 1847/(6) is not as challenging as the early die state with remnants of an underlying 6 in the date, several interesting characteristics remain in the later die stages that intrigue Seated half specialists. Die doubling in LIBERTY and the scroll is strongest at TY, as well as on the upper shield stripes and shield border. This Choice XF example is sharply defined with stone-gray toning and bluish-gray overtones. Traces of orange-gold luster remain in sheltered areas.
