Proof Barber Half Dollars
1915 50C PR66 PCGS. The 1915 half dollar boasts the second-lowest proof mintage of the series (450 pieces), bested only by the 1914 (380 pieces), and Gem or finer survivors are elusive. This piece exhibits a razor-sharp strike, with virtually unblemished surfaces. A dusky olive-gray veneer blankets deeply mirrored fields on each side, with vivid violet-orange and amber-gold underlying hues that boldly shine through when the coin is tilted beneath a light. Population: 20 in 66, 11 finer (1/17).
