1875 T$1 PR63 PCGS. Type Two Reverse. Historically, the Type Two Reverse (no berry beneath claw) is considered significantly more available than the Type One Reverse, but a study of our archives suggests the difference is only moderate at most. The Guide Book mintage of 700 proofs provides an alternative to the low circulation strike population of the 1875 in finer grades. This Select proof displays glassy mirrors and nearly untoned silver surfaces that yield to slightly foggy bluish-gray accents at the margins. Aside from typical blending at Liberty's top hair strands, the strike is quite sharp on the rest of the elements. A few light hairlines are of little notice. Housed in an early two-piece green label holder (without "PCGS" on the label at top center). Population: 61 in 63, 77 finer (1/17).
