1878 7/8TF $1 Strong, VAM-38, MS65+ Prooflike PCGS. A 7/5 tailfeather variety, VAM-38 is attributed by a partially lapped tail and a broadly doubled LIBERTY. The various 1878 "doubled tailfeather" varieties were created by using both 8TF and 7TF tailfeather hubs to create reverse dies. This flashy Gem shows only a trace of peripheral golden patina. The strike is crisp and marks are minor.
