1878 7/8TF $1 Strong, VAM-38, MS65 Prooflike PCGS. CAC. The remnants of five feathers are clearly visible below the primary tail feathers, and the area between the wing and tail is overpolished, identifying the popular VAM-38 variety. The obverse shows some doubling on the legend and date, as well. This delightful Gem is sharply detailed, aside from some incompleteness on the eagle caused by the noted die polishing. The fields are deeply reflective and only the most insignificant signs of contact are evident. Population: 12 in 65 Prooflike, 0 finer. CAC: 3 in 65, 0 finer (12/16).
