1879-S $1 Reverse of 1878, VAM-39, MS64 NGC. A Top 100 Variety. The 1879-S Third Reverse is a common issue, but the 1879-S with an obsolete Second Reverse is scarce in Uncirculated grades. Aquamarine, almond-gold, and lilac-red toning adorn this well preserved and coruscating near-Gem. The reverse shows only light autumn-gold toning across the border.
