1886-S $1 VAM-2, MS64 Deep Prooflike NGC. A Top 100 Variety. The mintmark is nicely repunched. The variety is undesignated on the prior generation holder. NGC has certified four Deep Prooflike 1886-S dollars as VAM-2, two pieces each in MS62 and MS63 but none finer. The present crisply struck and carefully preserved near-Gem is richly patinated steel-gray with orange and lime-green undertones.
