1888-O $1 MS66 PCGS. The mintage was huge for the 1888-O with 12.1 million minted. Curiously, there is only a small percentage of coins that have survived in Gem and finer grades. This piece displays concentric rings of toning on the obverse, while the reverse has a wide band of peripheral color with a brilliant center. Bright mint luster is especially notable. The centers show the often-seen strike weakness.
