Gold Dollars
1851-C G$1 MS61 NGC. Variety 1. The mintage of more than 41,000 pieces makes the 1851-C a popular selection for type, since it is the only Charlotte gold dollar that is moderately available in Uncirculated condition. Mint-made die striations join light abrasions and minor marks with some slight surface porosity, but overall the surfaces display a pleasing greenish-gold color with satinlike reflectivity for nice eye appeal. The strike is bold at the centers. Census: 58 in 61, 60 finer (1/17).
