1851-O $2 1/2 AU58+ PCGS. CAC. Variety 1. The 1851-O Liberty quarter eagle claims a substantial mintage of 148,000 pieces, but the issue is more difficult to locate than that high production total suggests. This Plus-graded near-Mint specimen offers well-detailed design elements with just a trace of high-point wear and a repunched date. The lightly abraded orange-gold surfaces retain traces of original mint luster in sheltered areas. Population: 17 in 58 (2 in 58+), 22 finer. CAC: 16 in 58, 5 finer (12/16).
