Liberty Quarter Eagles
1863-S $2 1/2 AU50 NGC. The 1863-S Liberty quarter eagle claims a paltry mintage of 10,800 pieces, and probably no more than 70-80 examples survive today in all grades. This pleasing AU specimen shows a touch of wear on the well-detailed design elements and the lightly abraded orange-gold surfaces retain traces of original mint luster. Census: 5 in 50, 35 finer (1/17).
