1878 $2 1/2 MS66 NGC. The 1878 is difficult to locate in the better grades of Mint State. Indeed, NGC and PCGS have certified only 16 MS66 pieces, and five coins finer. The Premium Gem offered here displays lustrous orange-gold surfaces with complementary rose shadings. The design elements are sharply impressed throughout, and there are no mentionable abrasions to report. Census: 7 in 66, 3 finer (1/17).
