Liberty Half Eagles
1857-S $5 AU55 NGC. Unlike the double eagles struck at the same facility during the same year, the 1857-S half eagle is not widely available in high grades. In fact, it is very scarce across the entire grade spectrum. This is a brightly lustrous, lightly circulated Choice AU five dollar gold piece with good detail. Census: 22 in 55, 27 finer (12/16).
