Liberty Eagles
1861 $10 AU58 NGC. A sun-gold Civil War type coin. Luster illuminates the motifs and legends, and although small to moderate marks are distributed, none are individually noteworthy. The right obverse exhibits a wire rim. There are two subtypes for 1847, 1860, and 1861 Philadelphia Mint eagles. The present example has a Rounded Bun, with a five-fold central hairbun. Six-fold Bulging Bun pieces are also known.
