1863-S $20 AU53 NGC. Breen-7216. Medium S. An apricot-gold Civil War double eagle with hints of microgranularity. The sole noticeable abrasion is below the second S in STATES. Pockets of luster are particularly plentiful on the reverse. Two mintmark sizes are known for the 1863-S, but the Small S and Medium S are approximately equal in rarity.
