Henry VIII (1509-47), third coinage, Groats (2), both Bristol, 2.42g, m.m. -/ws, henric 8 d g ang fra z hib rex, rose after legend, pellet stops, crowned facing local bust 1, rev. civi tas bris tolie, rose in legend, pierced cross stops, long cross over shield, trefoils in forks, pellet below shield and on inner circle; 2.59g, local bust 2, pellet stops, rev. lis in forks and before bris (N.1846; S.2372; Stewartby p.527; Laker A, B), the first with reverse marks, good fine, the second with a striking split, good fine, the portrait better (2).
