Green faience djed pillar. Egypt, Third Intermediate Period, 1070-664 BC. An amulet of a djed (spine of Osiris) with very clean lines and well-defined details. Long bar on back. Height: 8.8cm. Sandy patina. A few miniscule chips. An attractive example and rare this large. Cf. Petrie, Amulets pl. III, 35e.
