See Leu 86, lot 361 and Gemini I, lot 88 for other examples. Extremely rare and unrecorded in standard references! A lovely piece with blue-iridescent toning. Although unpublished in the references covering the posthumous coinage of Alexander III the Great, to which this attractive piece clearly belongs, it closely matches dies previously attributed to the island city of Chios and was almost certainly minted there in the early Hellenistic era.
