SASANIAN KINGDOM. Shapur (Sabuhr) I the Great (AD 240-272). AV dinar (23mm, 7.00 gm, 3h). Nearly XF. Mint I ("Ctesiphon"), Phase Ib, ca. AD 244-253. Draped and diademed bust of Shapur right, wearing mural crown with korymbos / Fire altar flanked by two outward-facing attendants wearing mural crowns surmounted by globes, each holding staff topped by crescent and dot, crescent and pellet on base of altar. Gobl type II. Cf. SNS type IIc (no symbol on altar base). Very rare with these controls.
