Newfoundland. Victoria bronze Pattern Cent 1864 MS64 Brown PCGS, London mint, Charlton NF-6. Plain edge, medal alignment. Quite possibly the earliest pattern type to be struck for Newfoundland, this exceptionally rare and pleasing piece offers deep brown surfaces with hints of red. An incredibly difficult example to encounter, compare to a very similar specimen which realized $6,500 in our 2014 CICF auction (sale 3032, lot 24266).From the Schroeder Collection of Canadian Coins
