Charles IV 1/4 Real 1796-NR MS62 NGC, Nuevo Reino mint, KM63. A beautiful example of this first date for the series with gunmetal tone highlighted by subtle dabs of bluish iridescence. A faint bulge in the flan, as made, has resulted in slight cabinet friction across the center of the castle due to the increased relief. This piece is currently the finest example graded by either NGC or PCGS as well as being the only certified Mint State example at either service. Very rare thus.
