Philippe VI (1328-50) gold Écu d'or à la chaise ND MS63 NGC, 4th Emission, from 13 August 1348, Fr-270, Duplessy-249C. + PhILIPPVS 8 DЄI | o GRA o | FRAnCORVM 8 RЄX, King seated on Gothic throne, a sword in his right hand and his left supporting a shield / + XP'C : VInCIT : XP'C : RЄGИAT : XP'C : IMPЄRAT, cross fleurée with voided quatrefoil in center and at the ends of the limbs, leaves in angles; all within a quadrilobe with trefoils in spandrels, two of which have an annulet to either side. A lustrous piece struck ever-so-slightly off-center with scattered traces of weakness.
