Great Britain
Victoria gold Sovereign 1851 MS66 NGC, Royal mint, KM736.1, S-3852C. Incredibly alluring from all angles, this superbly struck example is dressed in lustrous, amber tones, with a silky sheen noted in the open expanses. The obverse portrait of the Queen is exceptional--nearly as-struck--and as such, hard to imagine finer. The reverse is equally stunning, with varying levels of apricot color highlighting the intricacies of the center shield, while the surrounding fields remain essentially mark free. Among the finest-certified examples of the date at present, and very much a conditional rarity.Additional Selections from the D. Moore Cabinet
