Victoria "Plain Edge" Proof Gothic Crown 1847 PR64 Cameo NGC, Royal mint, KM-744, S-3883, ESC-291. Obv. An elegant crowned Gothic portrait of young Queen Victoria facing left. Rev. Crowned cruciform shields with floral designs in the angles and date in Roman numerals. The strike is superb and the fields are fully mirrored beneath glorious argent-gray rose and violet toning. The surfaces are near mark-free and this stunning example would not have caused undue comment if given a higher grade. The "Plain Edge" variety is much rare than the standard "UNDECIMO" edge variety. From the Law Collection
