British India. Madras Presidency - East India Company gold "Large Lettering" Mohur ND (1819) MS64 NGC, Madras mint, KM421.2, Fr-1587. A bright lemon-gold colored near-Gem of the issue, with an excellent strike for the type, exceptional luster and no troublesome instances of pre-strike planchet adjustment marks running through the centers as is often the case. Although incorrectly attributed as the "Small Lettering" variety on the NGC insert, the finest certified example of either variety that we have over encountered. Ideal as an elite type representative as such.
