Republic "Cap of 1875" 8 Reales 1876 OA-AE MS65 NGC, Oaxaca mint, KM377.11, DP-Oa21. Stunningly smooth, satin-like luster covers the fields, with soft pastel tone meandering over both sides. With respect to post-strike handling, this coin is on the verge of pristine, and seems to merit a finer grade, although light remaining flan adjustments (as made) probably prevented it. Still, tied with several others for the finest graded at NGC, and sure to excite the collector endeavoring to assemble a set of Oaxaca mint 8s by date.
