People's Republic gold Proof 200000 Zlotych (12 oz) 1987-MW PR66 Ultra Cameo NGC, Warsaw mint, KM-Y163, Fr-131. Mintage of 100 pieces. A massive and ever-popular gold issue, this type was struck in commemoration of the visit of Pope John Paul II to the United States in September of 1987, a tour which included nine cities. A few tiny and faint marks are noted in the fields along with traces of cloudiness clinging to the edges of the devices, but the surfaces overall are superb and the cameo contrast quite dramatic. The frost on the cameo seems undisturbed throughout and rim bumps, so common on coins of this size and mass, are entirely absent. This lot includes the original case of issue and COA #32.
