Paul I silver "Heavy" 10 Kopecks 1797 CM-ФЦ MS61 NGC, St. Petersburg mint, Bitkin-26 (R), KM-C97.1. Obv. Crowned Paul I monogram. Rev. Date and value with branches below. Mottled gray toning, with luster beneath. Only three pieces have been certified by NGC and PCGS combined, with none finer than this example. An extremely rare, one-year type, and the first example we have seen. The 1797 silver issues of Paul I were heavier, for all denominations, 5 Kopecks-Rouble, as Paul I attempted to have the silver coinage conform to the Albertus Rouble standard. This change was unsuccessful and all of the silver coinage was changed back to the standard weights after 1797.

Estimate: 3000-4000 USD
