Nicholas II silver Proof 15 Kopecks 1917-BC PR65 NGC, St. Petersburg mint, Bitkin-144 (R), KM-Y21a.3. Obv. Crowned double-headed eagle holding orb and scepter. Rev. Crowned date and value in wreath. Well struck, with frosted devices and deeply mirrored fields. The obverse displays rose-gray patina, with a dusting of golden color on the reverse. Perhaps not as rare in Mint State as the catalogs might suggest, this issue is very rare in Proof, with only two examples certified by NGC and PCGS combined. This is the first Proof of this issue that we have seen.
