TROAS. Scepsis. Ca. 400-310 BC. AR diobol (or trihemiobol?) (1.03 gm). Nearly XF. Horse's head right / Fir tree within linear and dotted squares. SNG Copenhagen 469 variant (weight and obverse inscription). Very rare! Struck in high relief, in sound metal.Previous examples of similar design offered at auction have different greatly in weight, ranging from 0.35 to .87 grams; however, these coins were uniformly porous and/or crystallized, whereas this example appears to be in sound metal, leaving it uncertain whether it represents an obol, diobol or treihemiobol (1.5 obol).
