KOREA. Order of the Taeguk, Fifth Class Badge, ND (Instituted 1900). EXTREMELY FINE.
Barac-13; cf.Peterson-225; cf.Werlich-823. 45 x 70 mm silver and multi-color enamels. Typical clockwise Taeguk with clear enamels over unfaceted metal as produced by Korean makers. An attractive order based on the Japanese order of the Rising Sun. The enamels are acceptable, although there is some surface enamel loss on the leaves beneath the plum blossom and some bubbles and sub-surface disturbances to the clear red and blue enamels of the Taeguk. The purple and claret ribbon is original and sound. Housed in a cloth-covered hinged wooded case with a silvered plum blossom clasp. The case is sound but the interior is somewhat tattered. The Order itself is EXTREMELY FINE.

Estimate: $400.00- $600.00
