Provenance - Walter George Webbey, chemist, age 21, born at London, UK; Enl.18May1915 at Liverpool, NSW; Emb.17Dec1915; 2 Aust Stationary Hosp, Tel-el-Kebir 11Mar1916; 12 FAmb 15Mar1916; A/Sgt (ER Cpl) reverts to Pte 12Feb1918; WIA 18Sep1918 GSW left arm, France; RTA as Extra Regimental Corporal (Hon Sgt) 09Jan1920; Disch.18May1920; WWII: Enl.05Apr1940 at Sydney, NSW in CMF (N65589); to WO1 23Nov1942; Court Martialled 07Jan1944 and reduced to Sgt; Disch.13Apr1945 as Medically Unfit; On 10Aug1952 Walter Webbey and his wife, Florence, were badly injured when their car got out of control and crashed into a fence in Wallaroy Road, Double Bay with Mr Webbey stated to be in a critical condition in St Vincent's Hospital; Died 1969.
