Thessaly, Cretan Mercenaries (Rhodes), (175-170 B.C.), Pseudo-Rhodian silver drachm, (2.71 g), obv. head of Helios three-quarter face to right with hair loose, rev. rose, with bud on left, above GORGOS grapes to right, (cf.S.5092, SNG Finland 796, Ashton Num. Chron. 1988 p.22, No.18 [Plate 4, A14/P15 dies]). Lightly toned, extremely fine and very scarce. Provenance - Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 99 (lot 3362) and Terry Naughton Collection, previously a private purchase from Spink & Son with ticket.
