Bithynia, kingdom of, Nikomedes III Euergetes, (127-94 B.C.), silver tetradrachm (16.47 g), dated 177 BE (124/3 B.C.). obverse, diademed head to right of Nikomedes, reverse, Zeus Stephanephoros standing left, to inner left, eagle standing left on thunderbolt above monogram and ZOP (date). (S.7274, cf.Callatay p. 54 [D30/R1], RG p. 230 var. [monogram], SNG Cop.647 var. [date]). Even dark find patina, nearly extremely fine and very rare, the second known with this date-monogram combination (the other is in the Ashmolean).
