Phoenicia, Tyre, (c.2nd century B.C. - 1st century A.D.), silver shekel or tetradrachm, (13.85 g), Tyre mint, issued year 31 = 96-95 B.C., obv. laureate head of Melqarth beardless to right, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, carrying palm, standing on prow of ship, club to left, above AL, monogram to right, Phoenecian bet between legs, around TUROU IERAS KAI ASULOU, (S.5918, BMC 1198-9, DCA 919). Struck on a broad flan, very fine - good very fine and scarce.
