Phoenicia, Tyre, (c.2nd century B.C. - 1st century A.D.), silver shekel or tetradrachm, (14.44 g), Tyre mint, issued year 41 = 86-85 B.C., obv. laureate head of Melqarth beardless to right, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, carrying palm, standing on prow of ship, club to left, above AM, D to right, Phoenecian B between legs, around TUROU IERAS KAI ASULOU, (S.5918, BMC 134 var , DCA 919). Slight weak striking on obverse and mild surface pitting, otherwise extremely fine and scarce in this condition.
