Arab-Byzantine, Umayyad Caliphate, (c.670-690 A.D.), AE fals (19mm), Hims (Emesa) mint, obv. crowned facing imperial bust, holding globus cruciger, K/AL/O/N (= "good") to left, bi-hims to right, rev. large cursive M, star between wavy lines above, E/M/I - C/H/C across, tayyib (= "good") in exergue, (A.3524, Walker, Arab-Byzantine 57, cf.SICA 1, 548. Wilkes 133); another (c.680-mid 690's), Damascus mint, (20mm), obv. single standing emperor wearing long robe, holding long cross and cross on globe, rev. large square M, reversed K in right field, dots etc, in exergue mint name, (A.102, SICA I, Type VI, 567, [Pl.39], Wilkes 131); another fals as temp. 'Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan' (AH 65-86 = AD 685-705), AE Fals (20mm), Baalbek (Heliopolis) mint, obv. two standing imperial figures, each holding cruciform scepter, cross between heads, rev. large M, cross above, inverted crescent below, H/L/I/(OY) to left, P/O/L/E to right, ba'labakk in exergue, (SICA 1, 584, A.3513.2, Wilkes 132). Fine - very fine, dirt patina in descriptive packets. (3)
