Herennius Etruscus as Caesar. 250-251 AD. Sestertius, 17.97g (10h). Rome, . Obv: Q HER ETR MES DECIVS NOB C Bust bare-headed, draped right. Rx: PIETAS AVGG S - C Mercury standing left holding purse and caduceus. RIC 167a (R2). Cohen 12 (40 Fr.). It is mysterious that Cohen, in both of his editions, valued this sestertius at a high 40 francs and cited it from the BM, as though it were missing from the Paris collection; for it is by no means particularly rare, to judge from the ample supply of specimens from a variety of different dies in CoinArchives Pro. Purchased from Tom Cederlind, CICF, 28 February 1993.
