1856 1C Slanted 5, N-3, R.1, MS64 Red and Brown NGC. Grellman Die State f. Lengthy die cracks on both sides allow prompt attribution of this unabraded near-Gem. The obverse is golden-brown and the deeper reverse is mahogany-brown. The dies were slightly out of parallel, such that the lower obverse and upper reverse display the sharpest strike. Our EAC grade MS60.
