1955 1C Doubled Die Obverse, FS-101, MS63 Red and Brown PCGS. Forever scarce by collector demand, the obverse date and lettering show wide doubling that makes it the most famous Doubled Die Obverse in numismatics and arguably the most popular of all Guide Book varieties. This Select Mint State example displays plentiful copper-red luster with blue overtones. Numerous microscopic carbon flecks and a few tiny ticks dot the surfaces but do not distract from the substantial eye appeal. Housed in an old green label holder.
