Jefferson Nickels
1949-D 5C MS67 Full Steps PCGS. The Denver Mint struck nearly four times as many nickels in 1949 as the San Francisco Mint and a little more than half as many as the Philadelphia Mint. The D and S-mint coins are about equally rare in this high grade with Full Steps, while the Philadelphia coins are by far the rarest. A spectacular array of iridescent rose, orange, green, and blue tones graces the entirety of this razor-sharp Superb Gem. Satin luster glows beneath the patina. A lens reveals a couple of flecks on the central reverse, but nothing else. Population: 6 in 67 Full Steps, 0 finer (2/17).
