Bust Dimes
1828 10C Large Date, Curl Base 2, JR-2, R.3, AU58 PCGS. The year 1828 saw the introduction of a new edge collar, resulting in a slightly smaller size, more dentils, and a better-defined rim. Two varieties are known. Curl Base 2 coins are about twice as scarce as those with a Square Base 2 in the date (JR-1). This lovely near-Mint dime offers dramatic cobalt-blue toning with glints of lavender and gold. Well-struck, although considerable incompleteness occurs on the eagle's head. Population: 2 in 58 (1 in 58+), 1 finer (2/17).
