Bust Dimes
1829 10C Small 10C, JR-3, R.4, MS66 NGC. A double cut denticle below the 1 in the date attributes the variety. Rich apple-green and golden-brown patina cedes to a brilliant center. This is a well-struck Gem, and the lack of detail within the vertical shield stripes is due solely to the reverse die. The reverse is lustrous and vibrant, and the devices appear to be free from contact. Possibly the finest example known of this scarce variety. Census (all Small 10C varieties): 7 in 66, 1 finer (2/17).
