Bust Quarters
1815 25C "L" Counterstamp, B-1, R.1 -- Damage -- Genuine PCGS. AU Details. The "damage" consists of a letter L counterstamp on the upper obverse field. "L" and "E" counterstamps on better-grade 1815 and 1825 quarters are well-known among Bust quarter specialists, and their significance has been the subject of hobby speculation since the 19th century. The "L" stamp is scarcer than its "E" counterpart. This is a slightly glossy and minimally abraded pearl-gray piece.
