Standing Liberty Quarters
1917-D 25C Type One MS66 Full Head NGC. CAC. Ex: Rev. Dr. James G. K. McClure. Dusky original toning casts this Premium Gem Full Head Type One quarter in shades of autumn-gold, pale olive, and champagne, while frosty underlying luster illuminates the eye appeal. The 1917-D Type One is not seen sharply struck nearly as often as its Philadelphia counterpart, and this piece shows some modest weakness on the shield, central figure, and leading edge of the eagle's left (facing) wing. A small tick on Liberty's breast is the only mentionable abrasion. Few finer coins are certified.
